Back then the mintmark was punched into each die individually by hand so placement will vary. Some that are way out of whack carry a premium, but this one is not too far off.

Interesting......I never knew that but makes sense.....thanks..... "Hi this is Denver....we just broke our our penny die, send another, thanks...." Guy at machine shop / die crib, slightly hung over, punches mint mark slightly out of whack, says screw it.....good enough....

any tector i can get my hands on
i had another thought ? what about a 74 dd variety ? i looked in coin magazine and there is no mention of . its circulated. would there be any value in it ? my camera doesnt take good pictures but i'll try to get one up. thanks-
