I think I know the answer due to the slight glaze in the lines and inside but I figured I'd ask...my best guess it was a vase shape due to the taper.....found sticking out of the bank of a stream.

Cool find. I wouldn’t be surprised if you found more shards of the vessel in that area or back up stream. That could be a big help in it’s identity. Thanks for sharing.

It was the classic " only thing I found before I got back to the truck..." sorta thing.....the banks of the stream are very inconsistent......10 yards of "high" 5 foot wash out banks then 40 yards of gravel banks then deep holes, where to me, if I was a beaver or snapping turtle I'd be calling home so I don't bother wading in there.
