19th century Two piece Button

I just found another button at my current dig location. I think it is Civil War era. “ Extra Treble Stand”. Is what I think it says on the back. It is magnetic. So not silver,gold or copper.

Does anyone know what time period This would be from?

I think Civil War era is correct.

Thanks for your input. I think the design on the front is a thistle. Not sure what , if any, the significance is.

I don't think it is a thistle, just a nice civilian flower button. However, I can't find that backmark in any of my references so far. I can make out extra and standd with two ds but the third word is eluding me. It could be treble like you say but I am not seeing it. Either way those type backmarks are generic and many have yet to be linked to a specific maker. And that would help date your button. I think it is late 1830s-40s but that's just my opinion.

Wow. That’s a lot of good info. Thank you. I did find my Dandy Button About 15 yards away from this Button. About another 20 yards away from where, in March, I found a 1865 2 cent piece. So your date seems very possible.

I agree with fyrffytr1 on the date... your button dates from the 1840 - 60 period.
It's likely a British-made civilian button.

Don't worry about the damage, it's a good find.

That's a pretty one. I agree with Civil War period, that was probably a blazer button, civilian pattern. We do find similar ones on CW sites.
