Did a city run, Dr, coffee meet up.
Got home and it was a lovely 60F.
4pm and the to-do list could wait.
So I figured why not go for a few hours to a hit site 5 minutes away.
Nothing spectacular but I enjoyed digging for a hour and half.
Still frozen in many spots but now have a lure to go dirt fishing again.😅
Didn't expect much, it was just nice to get a little hunt in.

Congrats, that's an old lure...
Most of the site is late Victorian.
The Triangle one, have you ever seen one like that before?
I was thinking it might of been at the beginning of a gang troll as a flasher or plain, before the spoons?

Neat old stuff, congrats!
Thanks oldmxrat
Still have snow backs where I plow. 1- 6ft high so it's still early.
Fields are too muddy, pasture are 75/25 frozen still so in a 2 weeks the thaw will be done.

Congratulations on your first outing of the season
Maybe a early couple trolling spoons ?
Thanks Bill
You do a good amount of fishing, don't you?

There's a bit of a pattern on the long spoon and paint still.
I wonder how the trip-angle one would work in the water though.
I'm only familiar with the scalloped/spoon shaped designs in trolling lures.
Then we had "Willow Leaves" silver for bright days, brass ones for the dull days.

I often use this style spoon trolling and they flutter and flash and the northern pike and musky will smack them

Growing up out west we used to refer to that color of spoon as a
Squawfish spoon. Cast or troll it and it was a sure thing, that would be the one that hit.

Yes They also are my favorite spoon that I use to catch herring.I will cast the spoon out and quickly reel it in as the herring will follow and pass it over my long handle six by six foot net and lift

Nice find of old fishing spinners. Hope it felt great just to get out.
The finds are just the icing on the cake. RIGHT!
Your absolutely correct, don't expect much and get something, it works out well.

Neat old lures.
Thanks Trezurehunter
The main creek runs about 150ft away from the cellar hole.
Bass, pike, Crappies, Perch are still caught from the creek.
Though EELS were plenty back in the day I have been told.
