Hi. I received these in a collection. Did some research and saw a wide range of prices for these. I wasn't sure if these are the wide rims, my eyes are failing me! I have seen some that appear to have the date further away from the rim than what these are, so wasn't sure. They still have very good detail. Also wasn't sure if these are circulated or not. I'm a novice when it comes to this stuff. Thanks.

Those are the normal wide rom coins. They may be very low grade unc. or AU, hard to say for sure from the pictures.

I believe the common one is the narrow rim and it's the wide rim with the premium in price.....right?

Yes, the wide rim is the higher value, but even one grade lower seems to be a lot less in price. Mine appear to the naked eye to be two different size rims, however the more I look at other auctions, I'm not sure if either of mine are wide rims. The space between the dates and the rims are larger than true wide rim coins that I've come across in auctions. I don't have a good magnify glass, just my camera phone. They probably aren't worth getting graded.

My apologies, I have no idea why I wrote wide rim, I meant both are the normal narrow rim! Sorry for the confusion!

i recall when they were first put into circulation they were not well received. Carry too many in one pocket and you may be walking in a circle.

I've always preferred 1, 2, and 5$ coins, having lived in Germany for over 12 years...
