The top one is a V nickel 1907. The bottom one is a buffalo nickel. Can it be cleaned to see the date possibly?
Usually trying to clean them won't help, and most of the time just makes it worse. There is a product called Nic-a-Date that can help make the date visible. It's more to satisfy your curiousity as it doesn't improve the condition of the coin. Being an acid it will attack the surface of the coin, so, even if it's a rare date, it's unlikely to attract a coin collector as a buyer.
