got in the other day - I was about chest deep and walked about 20 yrds and got a huge blast
I thought i had a pair of sunglasses. Was shocked when I saw huge gold ring slide down into scoop as i raised it
First target of the day and was excited as the sand ran out of my scoop but as I reached in and pulled it out
I got a sinking feeling - the color and weight seemed a little off and then I saw it - TUNGSTEN CARBIDE
Crap! Ive found different shades of black and gray ones but this was my first gold toned one
Nice looking ring but....
the tiny ring was the last find on my way out - think its junk
Found a small handfull of fresh coins inbetween - not much else to mention

I've found the black tungsten crapide rings so far. I would be pretty bummed to dig a gold colored ring and then discover it was TC junk.

That would be worthy of uttering the F word in my opinion, but getting out is always fun and for me it's the thrill of the hunt that keeps me going.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Pure excitement in the scoop only to quickly realize that something isn’t quite right. Then the agony of defeat. However still a nice ring and the excitement keeps you fueled looking for the next real one. Found the real one two weeks later and refused to look at it until I got home. Best of luck!

here is one from 2012 that was the "opposite" - meaning ...thought i had junk and was gold
I was hunting with Whydah at an old beach. He was hunting about waist deep and i was up to my chin
at low tide. I was hunting where there was sea grass and bottom was a little mucky so i was
using my floating sifter to make things easier. Got a nice signal - scooped and dumped into
sifter and saw as the muck wash away the glint of gold. I said "OH!" Whydah said "What ya got?"
I picked it up and I said "Crap! Its a golden screw cap" it had sea grass and muck still in it - I stuck
in water and shook it to get the muck out before putting in my pouch. I thought it was a booze bottle screw cap.
When I cleaned it out I could see what looked like a coiled snake/asp and called him over
and it was indeed gold. Have had a few other "junk/gold" finds over the yrs but this one stands out

I drew a blank today but Tom got 2 more gold colored men's tungsten fakers today. That's something like 6 or 8 of them in just the last few outings this month. What is this world coming to!.....:BangHead: I'm going to have to have another one of those talks with my Excal again......:laughing7:

Congratulations o finding an object that gave a lot of people something to talk about! I was enlightened today by your post. I didn't know tungsten rings came in gold color! Thanks for posting this information.

When I find TC rings for me it’s a sign to slow down as better rewards could be near..I would be more grateful to find them then nothing
