Got out today for a totally gross hunt. :( Temps & dew points were both in the 70's. :( It's been a while since I went back to my not so virgin site, so I figured today would be a good day to go there.

Nabbed 3 more coppers (1788 CT Copper, Draped Bust & Smoothie). Upon cleaning the smoothie I noticed some lines & it appears to have been carved but unfortunately the design is pretty well gone. If anyone has any guesses have at it.

The pin fire shot shell was a neat find as well as the button that I got at another site on my way back to the car.

Stay cool out there folks
Roger

I have the same pin fire casing, I wonder if it is still alive?

Great finds, and that pin fire should be "live" Brian - the percussion cap would be blown apart if it was fired . . .

Thanks Guys! This site still continues to give up coppers but man do I have to work for them. I've walked over that same area where I got the CT before but never got the hit. It was probably on 3-4" down.

If that shell was live at one time, it sure isn't anymore for being in the ground for so long :tongue3:

Nice Connecticut. Your scribed smoothie reminds me of one I found on one of my favorite colonial site. It also has the "double line" etching. One side says "John 1758" with a backward N and an Old English J, which looks like an I with a cross member. Not sure what the other side says.

Thanks Guys! This is my 7th CT that I've found since I started in 2010.

Steve, that's just awesome. Mine was probably the same thing. Wish I could read it, but now I'm more connected to the site as it's the 1st personalized item I've found. It has so much character & just screams out a story to tell of a moment in time captured, lost and now re-found.

Hey Rebel, I found some better pictures of my scribed coin. You can read these better. Thought you might like to see it. The one side says JOHN 1758. I can see MAR on the other, maybe it's MARY?
