Today I scored an unopened can of pet food, I think. It was buried about 3” down and I don’t know what in that sucker to be honest. What do you think is in it?

I also found a lock and key - perhaps associated with the can, or maybe it belongs to The Hatch?

Opinions welcome on that as well

Hell, I’m bored so if enough of you want me to open it, I’ll march out there and peel that sucker!

I hope you all have an enjoyable evening. And happy hunting to those who aren’t experiencing permafrost.

There’s a comment on here about enough viruses and variants. There’s questions about how ‘rona jumped from animals to humans. I’d hate to cause a problem and have somebody wonder how the virus in that cat food can jumped to humans lol

Hey Pepp! Just a hole for a tiny key. How cold is it up your way. 12 degrees in NJ

That is a tiny one, kind of reminds me of a letterbox lock or a small cabinet. Cool recovery.
Actually this morning it's warmed up a tad and we're the temps as you are.
But with nearly 1.5+ ft of snow on the ground.

Congrats on the great finds !

I've restored a bunch of old Brass Locks that I've found - they clean up real nice !
It's entirely up to you but I'd ...
cut the hasp off - put the lock thru Electrolysis and buff the lock up with some very fine Steel Wool.

Finally I get invited to North Carolina by a buddy there says he's got a great site for summertime metal detecting on HIS property. I'm sure I'm in for surprises considering how hard it is to find/locate places in the WEST that hold sooo much past history in the ground. Three day vacation ought to yeild something hope, hope, hope...........................
