i had posted this earlier with other finds i made today. I finally got help identifying this piece of silver. It is part of a circa 1620 Silver Gaming token with engravings of James I and Prince Charles on it, im attaching a pic of the piece i found and a pic of intact token.

These were struck from dies in the 1620-25s, & these are close but not a match.

Are they 27mm, 2.63gm? & 12 o'clock die axis?

I was just watching America Unearthed and they were talking about a colony in Virgina that existed in the late 1500's and early 1600's. John white left the colony and went back to England to consult with Sir Walter Raleigh the trip took 3 years and when he returned the colony had mysteriously vanished. The area you found this in might contain even older artifacts that could possibly hold the answer to some of these questions. Who Knows?

I am not sure I believe this. Virginia was not even here 400 years ago. The United States is not even three hundred years old. :). Really an awesome find, I am happy for you!

I had a cousin named Virginia, we called her Virgin for short, but not for long!
