5 year old's first finds

While waiting for my wife to get off work Wednesday, my daughter and I decided to throw rocks in the stream beside the parking lot. We were having some fun when she suddenly cried out DADDY!! DADDY!! I found something! Just like you do! She brought me a penny. You would have thought it was the greatest discovery of all time and to her it was. Of course I made a big deal out of it. Showed my wife when she came out. When we got home, we looked it up online and I put it in a coin holder and dated it. It is now hanging proudly in her room beside the picture of her grandparents. lol She also found a hand chipped piece of looks like bathroom tile. BIG day for her and dad got skunked. lol

I'm hoping to keep the spark growing in her. I have her help me scan the parking lots wherever we go as we are walking across them. She lost her little whale necklace at the school play ground right at the end of school. I just got permission from the principal to go look for it. lol So, hopefully it will show up and she'll be hooked for life.
