The result is slabs almost 23 Feet long and weighing about 1 ton.

This time we received an order to cut into slabs a huge expensive log of bog oak, about 5,000 years old. The result is slabs 7 meters long and weighing about 1 ton. Bog oak, a unique material that nature took thousands of years to create. Bog oak is extracted from the depths of rivers and swamps in those places where oak grew many thousands of years ago. Black stained oak is a noble, rare and valuable type of wood. No wonder its mining is compared with the development of deposits of precious stones and metals. This is a troublesome and expensive process, which certainly affects the final price of the product. For several centuries, elite furniture has been produced from bogged black oak, which adorns expensive offices, aristocratic salons and museums.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting. A few years back a salvage company came through the Tennessee River harvesting sunken logs. It was interesting to watch them.

Laborers probably earn a couple of bucks an hour. Labor is cheap. I helped at a fermentation plant in Mexico for a bit. Most everything was manual because labor was so cheap. Whatever works.

Just a habit from my French Foreign Legion days.
I watch on TV . My sound is not real good on the TV
unless I turn the volume up & when I do the Bass bugs me.
I was more into watching then to try & adjust for sound on this one.

I also watch allot of Foreign language Vids, so I think that helps me ignore what they are Saying too
