It's been nice to have a bit of thaw here in North west CT. But it will be short lived, we have a massive nor Easter coming tomorrow. But oh well. So on Sunday it was nice enough outside to walk the river to see if any bottles or relics have washed out of the banks. I didn't find anything spectacular but I did come across a nice pepper sauce sticking out of some tree roots. The second bottle is a local apothecary . I love finding these. The last thing I found is a little ground lip jar with a decorative base. Any Ideas on this one? I can't wait until everything thaws out I'm chomping at the bit to dig. But it was nice to get out. Thanks for looking- Justin

Some sort of salve possibly. Vaseline it looks like to me. Nice color. Cool pepper sauce too. I’m praying for all of you effected by these storms. Be safe out there. Jgas.

Good eye Justin. Like the sauce, have one just like it.

Love to local bottle, always a welcome sight in the hole.

Congrats !! Love your pepper sauce and your apothecary!!!! It's hard to tell, does the jar have a ground top ?

Thank you jgas I'm kind of clueless about the jar but you might be right about it being a salve jar . The weather here is atrocious here in New England. We had such a mild February you would think spring was actually coming.

Thank you bass I think I remember when you dug yours. This is the first pepper sauce like this I have found complete.

Thank you pikespeakcharlie. The jar does have a ground lip. It's kind of a head scratcher. I wonder if it's a need. But it's really nicely made I wonder if it's a piece of tableware.

RelicDude, that lil ground lip thingy is a Christmas Salt. Made in every color of the rainbow. I have a teal one somewhere.

Oh awesome you are absolutely right. Thank you Gleaner1. I would of never thought it was a salt shaker. And it appears these could attributed to Boston sandwich glass. Now I'm wondering how hard it would be to find the top
