Branching out from my site of last weekend ! Still making a few finds ! The 1862 fat Indian head was my first keeper of the morning ! A couple of musket balls and nicknacks later I pick up the 1935 Buff nickel and then the 57 Rosie ! The find of the day for me was the ornate sterling decorative piece ! It was quite deep and has that look of old silver it is whole and has 4 brad holes for mounting it. Not sure what it decorated ?? Any help with an Id would be great !! I ended the day with the 41 merc and the sterling money clip (my second one in a week ) in the same hole like it was a spill !! The clip came out first and the dime was underneath it !! Dug a few toys and a few other ditties !! MaineRelic

That's a lot of digging there!
And some fine keepers too.
The silver piece most likely adorned a fine wooden box or even a book.
Very nice

The florid silver piece , looks to me to be a liquor decanter label - note the two tiny holes on either
side , a tiny silver chain would connect to these and the label would hang off the neck /shoulder
of the decanter - think scotch , bourbon , gin etc. Argentium.
