Went out to the local park today for a few hours. I'm having to hunt some different areas because it seems the word has gotten out...lots more hunters there on the weekends now. Oh well...
First spot didn't do too well. Best find was a nasty 1946 Jeff nick. Switched spots and first hole I saw gold...didn't get too excited because I've gotten fooled a few times lately. Well, fooled again. Got a plated religious piece. A few minutes later I managed a shallow 1941-S Mercury dime in decent shape. Nice! After that I got a weird jumpy signal. Dug out a wheat penny spill...two wheats I could see sandwiched together by an iron object. Wasn't until I returned home and started to clean my finds that I realized it was a steel 1943. (The "one cent" on the reverse is barely visible in the photo).
Well, a day with a silver dug is a good day! Can't complain. I'm hoping to get one more hunt in before my wife goes in to deliver our second daughter. After that, who knows when I'll get out next
HH all! And good luck!
