Hi All,
Found this hair/wig curler and 3 cent piece last week at a friends site. The curler is almost a spitting image of ones that some archeologists dug at Mt. Vernon(nice article called “boiling, baking, and curling 18th century wigs “ on there site explains
the whole process) I found the lil slither of the 3 center first, then my buddy found they other part soon after. Just dumb luck I guess.
Best of luck to all

Always an extra thrill to find the rest of something broken, I've done it 5 times with arrowheads in the last 2 years. Congrats on your finds!

No, just eyeballing. One of them was this big Elko. I found the base 8-10 years ago and the tip last year in the sand dunes.

I found one and in trying to figure out if it was a coin or a token broke it right in half! I tried to bend it to test its strength. After that I stopped doing field inspections. Everything can wait till I get home now. I glued it back together and put it in the coin jacket! Wasn't funny at the time. Congrats!

ARC, All that was in reference to the 18th century wig curler, what I had initially intended to be the focus item of the thread, but the coin eclipsed it lol. No one I showed it to had a clue what it was and , prolly last as in I highly doubt I will find another.

Hunting Deer, thanks, I would of saw no humor in it either! I’ve done that with 2 piece buttons before, just crumble in your hand...
