I played in the rain for a couple of hours today at a place I used to play at as a kid. I never knew the elderly lady's first name who lived there. I asked her once and she said just call her Granny, everyone does. I would ride my bike there often and collect eggs for her. She was a sweet lady who was always ready to laugh and treated me like one of her own. She was the first woman I ever saw who used snuff. She was a pretty cool lady. She had a grandson living there with her who had a pet crow. He'd let the crow out durning the day and it'd come home at night and go into its cage. He told me it would fly and find him at his school sometimes. I was really impressed with that bird.
There arent any buildings on the property now but you can see the walk that used to lead up to her trailer. I remember she told me there used to be a house there a long time ago.. I found a couple of wheaties, 931 and 1940, part of a spoon, quite a few nails a key and my first axe head. Can anyone tell me approx how old it is. I got kind of excited when I dug down a few inches and hit the layer of bricks. The possibility of a cache was running through my mind. I was stoked to see the axe. HH to you all!

Congrats Tennessee Gal, looks like you're on your way to becoming a die hard relic hunter. The ax head looks to me like a "Crown" type double bit ax head. It'll look good once you clean it up and seal it....if that is what you plan to do with it. Either way, congratulations TG and keep on going! :occasion14:

Cool finds, I think that's a double bit ax head possible from the early 20th century. :)
