I went out hunting with a couple of buddies from the Illinois section on two seperate days and this was my take excluding a bunch of wheaties.

These finds are from my last two hunts. ,36-s, '43 & '17-d Mercs, 6 Buffalo nickels, '03 V-nickel, 3 Tokens, a hurdlers medallion, and a .925 Italian 26" Silver chain.

Todays hunt started out with the "V" in the first 5 minutes, expecting it to be great....nothing until the last 5 minutes when I got the '17-d Merc.

But my most exciting find is this SLQ. I was digging a dime signal and dug out a 1910 Wheatie from under a root. I stuck my probe under the root and continued to get a strong signal. Being careful as to not hurt the mysterious coin from within the roots, I saw a glimpse of a large silver edge. I used my fingers to pry the dirt, and I saw the Eagle knowing its a SLQ. I turned it over, put it in some water, and after taking it out, I can tell it had great detail, but still remained dirty. I didn't do anymore field cleaning as I didn't want to scratch it. I'm glad I took it home and cleaned it properly. Check out the detail on this thing.

I believe the SLQ is in Ef GRADE.. so it is a lil over 100.00... I'm not expert tho..
then book is $120 even better!
my coinvalues mag has it listed at 135.00

Very nice Type 2 SLQ! I wouldn’t put 100% faith in “book value” though. These prices are for problem-free coins being sold retail. Usually a dug coin has some issues such as hairlines, scratches, cleaning, etc that limit its value. Probably the best way to determine value is to check through the completed auctions of eBay. It is definitely an exceptional find!
