View attachment 1993451 View attachment 1993452 I found these in the hour before sunset today. Heartbreakers all but I’m thrilled to find them. I’m visiting family in the Sierra foothills and haven’t found slate artifacts before. This was a new spot to me and I View attachment 1993458 View attachment 1993459 started seeing flakes pretty quickly on arrival. The broken slate point was first then the little broken blade. I found the slate knife in the crotch of a tree that would normally be under 25’ of water. I just saw a little worked edge and voila! The crude point was the last find as the light died. Really stoked! If anyone (Southfork) knows anything about Sierra slate knives, I’d love to hear it! Thanks y’all! Those are neat, I've never found native artifacts but enjoy getting to see others find them.
