Had a few hours to hunt some old wagon trails, met a fellow hunter for a while and then went to find another spot where i had better luck before. First find was this 1880s oil lamp hanger, I had a hell of a time digging it out from a root the size of my arm, then about 10 ft' away i got a nice 9" deep coin hit, out pops a nice 1840 seated dime, this is my 2nd 1840 silver from this spot, about 3yrs ago i found an 1840 half dime here among other things.

That's one fine looking seated coin, nice digs.

Great stuff ! love the lamp parts and to get a really early Seated Liberty is special .

Seated Liberty is very nice. cool find.

Third? post for a seated today!!! I better get out and dig my first. A 19th or 18th century silver is my last reasonably achievable goal. A barber quarter would be nice too or another silver half. A 18th century American copper perhaps. Nevermind There's a lot more things I want to dig

What is it with seated coins being found today?! I'm super jealous! Congrats on the 1840.

I think I might like the lamp hanger more than the dime.. and that's saying something... Its an awesome dime.

Awesome finds dimes in great shape
im surprised you didnt hear me yelling to you guys, :tongue3: but you had headphones on,..this was to the right of those dirt trails, theres a small section there where all the trees are less then 60yrs old, I think they parked their buggies there and did trading. Those dirt trails used to be a East-West road,

3 seated today? how cool is that :icon_thumleft:

Great finds !!

That's a nice early seated!, few yrs older and it's a capped bust

It's amazing you found so much of that lamp! Very nice find indeed!

And that seated dime is an oldie!
