Got out for a couple hours this morning at a city park before my Dr. appointment. Sniffed out $1.83 in clad, a cart token from the Seattle airport, some kind of utility? tag, a phony cob and a 1957 Canadian holed dime.

Always happy to find something other than clad!

Think of it like this, a silver-plated Canadian penny, with a hole in it, is alot rarer than a silver Canadian dime.
So rare it’s almost non-existent! 😂

I guess it’s always possible that someone actually plated it with silver but seems extremely unlikely. I think this is someone having fun with chemistry

100% of 1957 Penny’s minted by RCM were copper.

@oldmxrat Still an interesting find. Thanks for sharing.

I live in a border town, and find Canadian coins on almost every ‘serious’ hunt!

I would call your coin a Canadian Wheatie :0 - they are a omen of good things to come
I actually sewed it onto my favorite hunting hat because of your response and I've had some incredible luck since then!
