With Marbles!!
Yesterday I woke to a fresh coating of snow on the ground. I surrendered to the fact that I would not get to metal detect in January, 2018. No metect detecting doesn't mean, No Treasure Hunting.
I purchased and moved into this old farmhouse in July, 2017. Lots of repair work and alterations. My latest steady project has me installing a new bathroom downstairs. That means I have to eventually run a soil stack vent up into the attic and through the roof. So into the attic I went. TREASURE HUNT!!
This house was built in 1905. I have been able to uncover some information about the people who owned and lived here, from 1945 to 2004.
Prior to buying and settling into this house, the owner, Mr. H, served in The 10th Mountain Division during WWII. The 10th gave Hitler's boys a real bad time in the snow covered Alps in Italy. Mr. H. was wounded and returned as a decorated hero. One of the first items I spotted in the attic was a WWII German Officer's M43 Cap. A little dusty, but cool. It was probably a souvenir.
Mr. And Mrs. H. raised a boy and a girl in this house.
I pulled down 6 or 7 boxes from the attic that were loaded with toys, boardgames, and books.
I really like the well preserved English Dorky car and the little yellow Tootsie Toy. Most of the toys are 50 or 60's era. So that's my Treasure Hunt for January. If we keep getting snow, I may have to go look in the Barn loft. LOL

Cool stuff!

I see an original Midge doll (Barbie's best friend) with no freckles and side-glancing eyes. Not life changing money there but it could be a rare combination. Put her on eBay!

I always wondered... If Midge was so popular, how come you had to buy friends for her?

Good idea,, I have a lot of places to search up there.
I also found a mattress and cot. Might be military or for camping. Maybe I have a boarder?? (Ghosts??)
Maybe it's stuffed with cash?? lol

Looks like the home inspector at the time of purchase did a fine job. I mean that sincerely ! glad they didn’t “discover” your treasures.

I feel there is more
