We are in the middle of a Nor Easter weather pattern which means a lot of rain. I saw there was going to be a 2 hour break in the rain which is exactly what I need to make a quick trip.
I found this cool cuff artillery button with a Scovill back mark along with the rare find of coins. The lot I went to today has an 1880 period home on it that has been pounded over the years. I was still able to pulllout a 1904 IHP and a 1944 and 1929 wheat penny along with a shot recursion cap.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting to all!

Nice to get out and do some diggin...looks like a great hunt. Do all of the percussion caps you find on those 2nd Seminole War camp sites have the 6 blow-out fringes? I find only the four lagged variety of fired caps at the 3rd S.W. camps where I have dug. I just don't recall seeing any with six

Hey Village. It’s the only P cap I’ve ever found at those forts. I’m thinking it may be from after the war. But unsure. The civil war camps I’ve hunted have the 4 fringe caps as well.
