This was a 6 hour hunt on Monday just gone.
It was our last chance to do this area as the beans were at a stage that we exit. So we gridded 95% of the Roman Site, the rest can be done after harvest. This site has never been that great with only 1 Roman Silver turning up. However, I'm not sure if they have done a deeper turn but we beat our best ever 1 day result from this site by quite some way. Previous highest was 36.

53 Roman Bronze Coins (4 OK)
17th C Buckle
Medieval Thimble
Bit of a Roman fibula (Military crossbow type)
Roman Hob-Nail
Hammered Penny of Ed I Canterbury Mint
Hammered Penny of Ed III Durham Mint
(Harder to find mint)

Yes, I have a very large collection as I keep everything Cru'dad finds & apart from sharing about 25% of the finds with the landowners, I never sell anything.

Beautiful coins! Our season is pretty much done for the beans fields as well. You probably have more options for where you are but here it's pretty much beans or corn, so the season is over until the fall.

Nicely done on the 2 hammered. The soils in your area are a lot kinder than the other areas. The details are usually burnt right off, your scrap ones are the best ones. (If you catch my drift.)
Seems like everything is in the ground now, and the grass/pastures are too high. Need an early hay, moisture to get out again here.

You really cover alot of ground when gridding...no wasted movements...any repetitive issues with your arm? You're a detecting machine. :)
Thanks for sharing:notworthy:

Our season would normally be over, if it wasn't for the failed oilseed rape.

Not yet its on my list.
Although we can not be 100% sure that some of our sites didn't have a small scattered hoard. Because the plough may have spread it about.

Not had any arm issues but years ago I did my back in. It took years of sports massage to sort it out my twisted right scapula. So I taught myself to untwist it by detecting with my left arm as well. However, now the machines are so light I hardly use my left.
