I decided to hunt around the edges of defunct Boy Scout camp this morning. This particular site has produced very well in the past, but had petered out over time. Today I decided to spend my time focusing on the perimeter areas with the hope that there were some targets I missed. It was very slow going, but I was finding some wheaties so that gave me hope there might be some silver left to find. My efforts were rewarded with a pocket spill featuring a couple of wheaties, a 1935-D Merc, a 1934 Washington, and a 1917 Walking Liberty half dollar.

A short time later I also managed a 1942-D Merc and a scout pin. All together, it made for an excellent day!

On a separate hunt earlier in the week I was lucky enough to unearth a pretty gold ring. It's marked "10k", and weighs in at 8.3 grams. Given the other items found in this same area, I'm guessing the ring dates to the early 1900's

Great post and super keepers. Thanks for sharing and I'll bet there's more there to be found, for sure.
