AFTER 40 YEARS, MY FAVORITE SITE GAVE UP IT'S 1000TH SILVER!

I've been hunting this site for 40 years...since I was 16...and it finally gave up silver #1000! :occasion14:
I remember coming here back in 1979 as a sophomore in high school, and finding my first silver with my Bounty Hunter 840 VLF/TR. I've pounded it over the last 40 years with my Whites Eagle, Eagle Spectrum, Fisher CZ-5, CZ-6, CZ-6a, CZ-7a, CZ-70pro, Minelab Explorer 2, Explorer SE pro, and E-Trac. I used to leave here quite often after a days hunt, with 10+ silver...but the last couple of years, I'm lucky to leave here with just one every two hunts or so. The signals are TOUGH...as they should be after 40 years of pounding. I hunted for 6 hours to find silver #1000 from here, and yes I dug a few rusty nails in the process.:laughing7:
The good thing is, when a coin does pop out, it's usually an oldie like this 1890 Seated dime. :icon_thumright:
I couldn't think of a better way to hit silver #1000 from the same site, than this old beautiful seated coin.:angel7:

My buddy Dave also did well, pulling a nice 2-center and an old indian...and my beautiful wife hit her 2nd ever silver coin, with the old war nickel. Best part is, we all had a blast, and Hercules enjoyed the 70 degree weather.:angel11:

This was a lot of fun. I love it when you find a silver coin, and your face lights up. I wondered how you hunt for 5 hours, and are okay with finding only one coin, but when I found that silver nickel, which I didn't even know was silver...lol...I understood. I'm glad I was with you when you found your 1000th silver from here!! I am really starting to see why people get addicted to this hobby, and the kids love it too.:angel7:

Congrats on the Seated, cool dog and great site! Hopefully you can squeeze another couple hundred silvers from there. Congrats!
Thanks, friend. I'm happy my wife was able to pull one from here, too.

Congratulations
Thanks

Excellent job my friend, congrats to the wife as well!!

Thanks, my friend. If I squeak an old silver from here just once out of every 2 or 3 hunts from here on out, I'll be happy.

Such an accomplishment! Thats wild! Congrats.
Good luck on your next 1000
Much appreciated. Good luck on your next hunt as well.

Congrats,

1,000 silvers is a huge milestone and from one site amazing.

No matter how hard you hunt a place there is always something left.

We have some hot spots like that and we talk about it all the time. After 20 years there still popping out a silver here and there.

Jer
Thanks, Jer. Old, hammered sites are still my favorite, and I agree 100%...there's always something left. Take care, my friend.

I hope we have many more years of this hobby...and I also hope my knees hold up!

Congratulations on the milestone find. While I would love to know what type of site you are hunting I recognize that too much info given and you have a herd of folks trying to pound the site for silver. You have a great spot and the right to keep the location to yourself. I do post the type of site, usually, but do not give any info that would pinpoint the location to reduce the competition. If they think of it themselves and get permission fine, but I’m not going to hand it to them.

Great job and keep swinin.

Sorry I'm so late with the response, was having issues logging on on my phone!! I've seen you pull the last 100 or so out of here, and I appreciate you taking me here. :occasion14: Not much for signals, I agree with you, but it sure is fun to get some out of the grown over spots if we are willing to spend several hours hoping for a chirp. It's been a long while since I've found a 2 cent piece. You got a good one with your wife, and I can see she enjoys hunting.
