It weighs the same as an Equinox. About 3 pounds. Has the elliptical coil. Those are great for tight spaces. VERY high frequency for a US made machine at about 48K. Gold and those pesky Rev War pewter buttons will fall prey to it. The batteries are easily obtainable RECHARGEABLE nicads, the kind you can now get at the grocery store. Cheap too, and you'd never have to wait on an order for replacement, although I have never had a rechargeable battery in a detector go bad on me. Higher frequency than the Minelab which will help with gold recovery. The batteries are at the sleeve cuff, so it should balance like a dream. If I lived out west I'd get one. Price is nice.

Unfortunately I am not in the market for another machine.

The design reminds me on White's machines.

It is the Whites 24k. Garrett just made a new housing and slapped there name on it. Not bashing Garrett, they bought out whites so they can call it there machine now but it?s nothing new but a new name on the 24k.
