It’s why Canada stopped making them. The US is paying for nostalgia. Thought I heard the same thing about cost with US dollar bills.
My oldest brother owned a pawnshop, he rounded up/down to the nearest dollar.
This was nearly 30 years ago, and the customer base loved the idea as well.
