Hi all, today was the best day weather wise that we've had for sometime around here. Recently, we have had high winds and lots of rain, but today the sun shone. The bridge and gate house in one of the pics is a remnant from the cold war, no armed guards there these days. Come with me and enjoy a June sunset where I live.

Most excellent pics, hammered. It seems like our whole state is on fire now, so we have a lot of haze. My eyes burn every day. 11,000 people evacuated so far. Not us yet, though. The closest one is 20 miles away.

Great pics, Hammered. What dike/levee is in the pics? Tnx. TTC

Nice hammered! I like how the sun looks, and I'm imagining it's cool? Becasue it's hotter than the dickens here, and gonna stay that way. thanks for the cool pictures! Rginn, looks like a long summer, y'all take care up there!

Hi RGINN, glad you enjoyed the pics and I'm sorry to hear about the fires in your state. Stay safe

Thanks Terry, the pics were taken around a set of creeks and marshes near me called Fleet Head. Going back in history Tudor navy ships were built here and more recently, in 1953, a massive tidal surge breached the sea defences and many people lost their lives. Since then the sea walls have been raised and reinforced, but unfortunately they need doing again now. Here's a couple of pics from Google Earth giving a birds eye view of a small part of this area.

Thanks naturegirl, the temps around here are well below June average with an ambient of 18c and out on the marshes with the windchill about 10c. Seeing you like owls, here's a couple of a Barn owl I spied Saturday for you

Tnx, Hammered. Appreciate it. TTC

Love the pics, Ian! Very pretty area you live at. The water fowl are pretty abundant and that owl is a hoot.

Thanks Judie, who knows, I might bring the camera around your way one day:laughing7:

Come on over Ian, you're always welcomed. Had a swallow-tail kite swooping in my back yard earlier. 1st to ever see this kind of bird was in '10, had to look up in the bird guide...a beautiful bird. Google it to see a photo.

Googled it, what a beautiful bird. But you should be careful Judie, the next lens you see might be mine:icon_thumleft:
