There Isn't much to feel , there's a spot between the 9th and 10th trail rock stack where there's like a small bridge like formation you walk on, it's just a tingling sensation from your waist up thru the top of yur chest. Kind of a rush or "quickening" feeling.

So, a quik run down on the bell rock Sphinx, I'll post some specific pics later.

You go up to the ear of the gigantic sphinx on the right side near top of bell rock, which is a crescent moon shaped rock leaning with an odd face profile. The eye of the crescent head is a hole that makes a sun sign on the wall, which is supposed to represent and eye with a pupil( it's sideways though). just out in front of it are two more sunsign "eyes" one is also an open mouth of a shadow snake head. They are kind of a sideways "notch" shape as well...
These will be seen best today , the summer solstice, and viewable or week or so either side of the solstice.

Anyways you go up and look with yur left eye thru a sideways notch on the nose bride of the crescent head by the big eye hole. It should show the rock spire shaped like a robed man /catholic saint across the canyon that is also the pupil part of the eye of the huge skull on the hill. This will be a bearing of 303 degrees. You take a compass reading and veer left 3 degrees to where the other non viewable eye of the skull would likely be across the canyon. That would be the 300 degree line. That's the spot being marked. It's an old crypt, probably turned into a vault.

Also remember it's a "versed" monument 9- 47 on a lions head (sphinx) means Mark chap 9 verse 47 ( you'll see it if walk up to the Crescent rock it's above and to the left of it). :
Mark 9-47 :

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

So it's all about individual eyes or rather things shaped like individual eyes here.

Before I post pictures as well, A typical response will be.... "I want some of what your smokin"...

ok..., so the last cigar I smoked was with my cousin, .. a couple aged 10 year old cuban cigars in Arizona on this trip, from my humidor, a couple La Gloria Cubana Tainos from about 2012......they are discontinued, but they were sublime.... have fun pushing those small coil metal detectors over nails and calling us nuts. I'll keep smokin 50 dollar cigars and laughing.

My brother killed it today on morels with his haul from one patch... epic sized ones, can of beans for size comparison..... I love treasure hunting and morel hunting has that similiar mystique about it. It's like an adult Easter egg hunt, bringing back that feeling when you were 6 years old. I think treasure hunting brings about the some of same amazing/addictive feeling. Hard to describe it, but finding these huge morels would be similar euphoria when you've hunted so many years...
but people panic when they see gold. Even gold flakes...Something extra and over the top happens to many, lots of stories of old timers guarding their gold mines to their death, "nutjobs" really, and this field of treasure hunting can be full of them...so be careful out there who you team up with.

Ok, I think Ill narrow the post in 3 or 4 posts, you can't get it without a treasure trove permit. And who really cares anyways. I know of many set up in similar ways, once you see a few, you find similarities..and they become, what's the word, seeable, findable, figureable, repeatable, I don't know.

You go up to Bell tower on north and right side, look for the huge sphinx profile, look to where it's ear would be....it's crescent moon shaped

You get to the ear and there are some sideways notches to look thru . They look at a skull shaped formation across the canyon. The bible verse above the the ear /crescent is 9-47, since it's on a lion heads/sphinx, it's Mark 9-47 , and you are dealing with eyes and missing eyes (plucked out).

The pupil of the eye of the skull is basically a saint statue looking towards where the missing eye (plucked out) of the skull feature is. It's at 303 degrees from the crescent, so you move left (they always went left) 3 degrees to the (plucked out ) eye of the skull so you are on the 300 degree line... that's the crypt/vault spot.

Maybe it was the Bell Rock woo woo vapors (which I've felt myself a couple times), but it seems to me your pareidolia prowess seems to have drifted a bit askew here. Vortex shift?

To my imaginative eye, the white circled feature much more resembles a "sphinx" than does the one where you've put a red circle. The red feature looks more like an "elephant" to me. Next time I go up Bell Rock, I'll double-check.

Naa, here's the sphinx , pretty easy to see. it's the whole body, people don't ever look for the big picture. it's just a profile, but no less eroded than the one in egypt which was obviously re-done at some more recent point in the head portion than the body. You are just looking for profiles in the field, they are positional and meant to be that way.

I suppose you could look for partial sphinxes and elephants on this pic though. Let me know what you find, I'll be gone for a few months, but I grabbed one of those Elon Musk starlink RV satellite setups and will be messing around with it off and on till this Oct.

Please keep us posted on how your Starlink setup works and whether you feel that it justifies the cost (constantly increasing - $600 for the hardware and $135/month, last time I checked). I was hot on the idea for a home system a year or so ago, but backed out as there are still cheaper, faster and more reliable options.

Last time I was hiking in Sedona I followed a trail toward this guy and wondered what he was gazing at. Whaddaya think? A Pharaoh keeping an eye on the "sphinx"?

Hey sdcfia, I haven't left quite yet, and I hope you know I will joke around as you do , no hard feelings. I will report on the starlink, in fact I will try and post from it, in a week or so. We camp in a narrow canyon so it should be a good test of a hard spot for service. Usually we use the globalstar sat phones there which are intermittent at best and no texting , internet, etc, just a crummy phone, but nice for emergencies when you can get service, which is like a 2-5 min call every 15-30 mins.

There was too much stuff to look at in Arizona around the summer solstice, mornings and afternoons, I would love to go back , was trying to stay on my side of the road ....

I know in your picture there is a cliffside hoyo to peek thru on upper right of where you circled, sometimes these show a spot on the ground, but you would likely look for an entrance slightly further down the hillside from where the spot on the ground is and it would be tunneled. They liked to tunnel under an outcrop or cliff, as they were used to mining into mineralized spots which are mostly on the bottom sides of outcrops.

For the most part when you see a profile of something they were meaning to draw you closer to the area for either a window/peephole to an across canyon spot or an actual spot they marking somewhere on the hillside.

No hard feelings about the joking. Since this whole TH realm is pretty much a joke, we all need a good sense of humor. I've gotta admit, your posts can be pretty outrageous. [wink] [nod]

Yeah, Starlink is still a back burner home option for me, but I'll need much more convincing that Elon will be able to deliver. We'll see. T-Moble, my phone service, is offering a 5G home box for dedicated wi-fi at a much better price. My next door neighbor is getting a test trial on one now. We'll see about that too. As far as your remote coms go, sat phones are marginal in tight terrain, IMO. Folks around here are going with the Garmin inReach. Granted, text only - no voice - but very reliable.

Hoyos, rock formations, sun shadows, ancient mythology, secret tombs. Did you ever nail down who "they" were? As you know, I prefer known mining areas, man-altered terrain (old dumps, old trails, rock carvings, et al) as lures. Here's something I found a week or so ago above a former rich placer deposit that became exposed after 10 days of heavy rain and a backfill collapse. No dump, just a covered opening. Nothing to figure out now except how to safely enter and look around.
