Does changing from the stock s-rod to the Anderson straight rod enable the user to more easily keep the coil just off the bottom more easily not constantly fighting the buoyancy characteristic design of the coil? So frustrating. My 3 yr warranty is soon expired on my Nox and with my luck it will flood again.I wish Garrett would continue making the TDI Beach Hunter

I have a 3 inch piece of brass rod that slips into the lower shaft. It overcomes the buoyancy of the coil and the need for the constant force needed to keep the coil on the bottom and does not affect the detectors operation. Stainless steel rod could be used also. I have used this "fix" for some 25 years. Try it you may like it.
