i would like to know how can so many people loose there buckles. didnt they know their pants were falling down. my question is not a joke because all of you find so many buckles.

I'd say more caught on low branches or who knows whatever else, at least here. Back in the day there was a much higher % of uncleared land than cleared, and I'm sure it had to be rough going at times.
