Any clues to what this could be?

I found this detecting around an 1800’s sight in Dexter, Indiana on a relative’s property in a wooded area and have no clue what it could be. I used a nickel to show its size and it is magnetic. Probably 3-4 inches wide and round, I’d say it feels like maybe 2-3 lbs. it has two little tiny holes like not for a handle but maybe broken from a mold, not sure. It has no threading and looks like a huge head of a phillips screw. Any clue out there. Thanks!

I’d guess it may be a flue damper plate from a wood or coal stove pipe. The holes may have mounted the pivot arm to the plate.

The back looks like it has 3 attachment points.

Thanks for reply, I did check into the damper and don’t think it is, this piece is solid and probably 1/4 in. Thick to a half inch, unless there is different damper I haven’t seen.

I think I was wrong. Most damper plates have some form of holes near the center to allow a minimum amount of venting, even when closed.
Sorry, but it was just a guess.
