Got out for a short afternoon hunt on a lot that held a Seminole War barracks during the 1830s. After finding a couple musket balls and a hand made lead game piece I got a fairly stroke but deep signal. I pulled out this old fork. It appears to be gold plated with a floral design. It has a nasty bend and no makers mark. I?m not sure if it?s period to the fort or made later. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking and happy hunting. 98B9FB84-7338-424C-8780-9470C7B323A1.png A365401C-CCD5-4051-82B3-2DF7E591D159.jpeg C3EE0686-4E90-40E9-BDB3-E20D4DC9F4EF.jpeg

After consulting with an old time digger, I learned that the fort is indeed period. Apparently the give away is the extra long times. The became shorter about the time of the civil war.
