I would say possibly a William III halfpenny minted 1695-1701. No matter what it is...it's a nice find!

Nice find . When you take a picture lay a modern coin next to it. That way people can get an idea as to it's size also

Yes size and weight could help - it reminded me of a c. late 1700s Spanish copper. This is a 1789 4 Maravedis for comparison.
That makes more sense
