Good afternoon,

I found this in the Mississippi River this afternoon along side a rock dike. The river is hitting record lows and people are flooding to the rock dikes to look for fossils. The tip was broken off when I was trying to get it loose between 2 large rocks. Feel sick about it but at least we got it out after 45 mins! Thanks in advance

Beth

I'm no expert...but that sure fits the size and appearence of a possible fossilized Saber toothed tiger tooth....I think I'd make the effort to contact a decent paleontologist for a more definitive answer...
