I dug this today along with some bullets, buttons, lots of horseshoes and a wormed bullet with the extractor still attached. At first I thought coin but the opposite side looks odd and its awful thin to be a coin. Any thoughts? Thanks for looking.
Hey there can u help us out in which state u found it?

I shouldve cleaned it better!

I was afraid to clean it any further but after it dried out i discovered that it was just dirt encrusted on the back of it. It is some type of sutlers token as mentioned.

I didnt even know what it was at the time. I just threw it in my pouch thinking it was junk until I got home and noticed the 5. Then this morning some of the hard dirt had started to fall off the back. Im very excited to have it. One of a kind find for sure.

No u probably wont. Sometimes things are best kept and not given away. I've made alot of choices in my life on giving things away or tearing them up and later in life realizing what I had was rare lol
