Anyone try Okinawa Beaches?

I am fortunate enough to be on my way to Okinawa Japan in a few months for an extended stay, 2-5 years!, and am hoping someone has an idea on the laws for MD on these beaches. I am itching for that sand! The ground here in Las Vegas is so hard, you can basically hit the beach volleyball courts and surface hunt in the parks and that is about it. I will be heartbroken if MD is against the law in Okinawa! Hope someone can help.

I don't know about the laws, but I was there in'50, '51, (military) and the unexploded ordanance there would make me be very careful.
