I’ve never been this lucky in my life… I’ll try to make this as fast as possible. So! I was sifting an over hang (ON MY PROPERTY, I feel like that’s important to clarify) very successfully by my standards, I’ll post the pictures of the artifacts after this. Anyway, I was sifting some fresh soil when I see a round disk drop out of a dirt clod on the the screen, trying not to get my hopes up I reach down and pick up the abnormally heavy object. My hearts beating like crazy, as I turn it over Instantly realize what I’m holding.. a beautiful 1786 8 REALE!!! Made in Lima Peru. I literally almost cried, after years of metal detecting I just happen to pick this up out of the ground by chance with no detector??

The overhang is on an old wagon road that passes by my family’s homestead house in West Virginia, I won’t get any more specific haha. Not nearly as deep as the arrowheads of course. And I thought I was lucky when I found a half reale! Thanks for reading, enjoy the finds!

Oh! If anyone has any info on time period of artifacts or various names of them Id be grateful to hear about what I’ve found! B081069B-3CF8-49C9-97D7-B3B643842F8A.jpeg

Nice array of Indian artifacts. Those rock overhangs were used by the native Americans for thousands of years. My brother excavated an overhang near Morgantown and found a lot Indian artifacts. Nice surprise finding the 8 reale there. Early settlers must have used the place for shelter as well.
Wow, a great find! I have recently found a tool outside of Albany NY just like the grayish scrapper in your photo.

The idea of pirate treasure in the Virginia’s reminded me about my 40 year quest and research for the Beale Treasure.
There were some theories about Jean Laffite actually being or actually working with Thomas J. Beale Jr. ?!?!
I even have a copy of Thomas Beale Sr. having to serve Laffite with an arrest warrant after the Battle of New Orleans, when Laffite returned to being a pirate near New Orleans after helping the US fight the British ships. It seems after that he sailed into history after his move to Galveston?!?
Maybe Beale Sr. Cut a deal with Laffite to overlook the arrest warrant?
Maybe, then, he went to bury his loot in Bedford, VA with Beale Jr?
He would have travelled overland to get to the vault, and maybe spilled some coins?
Since I don’t know your location, this May all be moot?

I would have a heart attack if sifting for arrowheads and something like that flipped out. I guess humans always knew a good spot to stop and rest or camp.

Amazing worked stone finds, great quantity and variety. Nice pictures of them. The piece of 8 is totally out of place. I think you should donate it to someone like me who has been looking for one for many years, without success. If I ever found one now, I'm not sure my aged heart would survive the excitement.

Hey there. The Universe seems to agree with you seeking out treasure. Forgive me for asking but the Yellow ish arrow head held up top the light, or one like it, would you entertain selling or a trade. I would love to make a necklace and was hoping I'd find one, though this wasn't how I imagined it lol. thanks again!

Hi! I appreciate the offer but I have a policy of keeping my finds from the same site together. I’m not in it for the money anyway so I probably wouldn’t sell anything unless for a great deal to be perfectly honest. Again thank you though and sorry I can’t help.
