This was on a old piece of property no idea what it is weighs about maybe 10 pounds and is 6 inches from either way a perfect circle no idea what it’s made of and I found another awkward thing it might be a Mardi Gras doubloon but I wouldn’t think it would be out this far from New Orleans and I’ve never seen a doubloon look like this. Spend weird times thanks for looking.

Certainly looks like melted lead but there's raised letters on the flat side (third picture by the black area). That's unique. Also looks like part of the edge os raised and reeded. I wonder if a light at the edge or some type of photo editing would bring out the detail better.

I agree with the 'melting pot' suggestion. I think Truth is showing two different items in the pictures and the other item with the corroded hole in it is what he thought might be a Mardi Gras doubloon (the pic where you can see what might be raised letters).

This might be the wild-assest WAG ever but at the top centre (in my edited version of his picture) there is something that looks awfully like a trombone to me:



That wouldn't be completely unlikely for a New Orleans token, whether Mardi Gras, Jazzfest-related, or just a general souvenir of the city. Doctor Google has been unhelpful, apart from a modern souvenir token:



Below what looks like a trombone there appears to be a series of parallel lines running left-right at a slight angle but I couldn't convince myself of resemblance to a musical stave.

I was looking at it in wonder as to what it was. Mine was about half the size though. Now you say it makes sense. Im with your explanation. 👍

I struggled with the lettering but, if you see 'LOUIS', I would guess it's the first part of 'LOUISIANA'.

This is the best I can do with a brush and nose grease should I put this in lemon juice? Or should I just put water and let it dry?

I’ve seen a lot of Mardi Gras aluminum doubloons and they always have rust on them this one’s different trust me I said now it’s brutal you have no rust and would hold the silver which off the top of my head is called Antimony. I had a counterfeit seated dime that was made out of Antimony

I very clearly (!) see "GOD BLESS AMERICA", which doesn't narrow it down very much
