We have no idea, he had a little antique shop and it was in his “special not for sale” box. it doesn’t look like it gas been sharpened but again I have no idea! lol
I,m going to step on Newnan Man,s post but I don,t think he was referring to it being resharpened by your Granddad. It was originally made as a certain point and due to reasons known only to the maker was resharpened by that person or persons into a small point.Long ago.

Can you hold it up to a light? It almost looks like obsidian that has sat out in the deserts of Nevada or Utah for a long time.
Yes here are a few pictures. Funny my rock app also identified it as obsidian!

My grandma is wondering if it’s worth selling? She’s trying to deal with his shop stuff so she doesn’t have to keep paying rent. 😕
It looks like Obsidian to me.

The general shape makes me think Silver Lake or Lake Mohave projectile points from the Great Basin. Here is a link to a lot of Western Stemmed Tradition points:

May be speaking about something other members on the west coast know more about, normally a point like that wouldn’t be worth much but if it is one in the western stemmed tradition as suggested then it may actually be worth a bit but even then I’d say still just in the hundreds of dollars, I doubt you’d be trading it for a new car or anything.

You could always toss it on eBay, but generally speaking they aren't very highly valued (dollar wise) by collectors. The collectors that like them can find them pretty easily out in the Great Basin, the collectors that buy points usually go for crescents or other "prettier" Great Basin paleos.

On Proxibid.com you can search some of the completed items. They usually sell for $20-$50, probably the best deal out there on old paleo points.

There ya go, I figured any paleo is worth a couple hundred but it appears I was mistaken in this case
