This is the second and final oil painting that I purchased today ($28) in Tecumseh, MI.

Considering it's close proximity to Toledo, OH, is this a true Paul Kremenik?

An artist that lived in Toledo's St. Vincent's Hospital Ward for 27 years and painted with his mouth (both arms were amputated at the shoulder).

Hi again Chad. What a remarkable man!

The signature on yours looks to be the same as the one linked below, also said by the seller to be the work of Paul Kremenik. I don’t doubt it, and it has a sticker on the back that says “RIECK'S Wall paper and Paint store Findlay, Ohio” [only about 50 miles from Toledo].

There don’t seem to be enough examples of his paintings with auction records to get a handle on value. The eBay seller claims it to be “rare”, which is probably true, but rarity doesn’t necessarily equate to value. I don’t know what it sold for, or if it sold at all, but if you have a Worthpoint account (I don’t) you can find out.

Here’s another eBay listing (again the signature matches) with a “buy it now” of $850 but I don’t know how realistic that is.

Absolutely fascinating! This one definitely deserves a professional cleaning (if it's not too costly) and a better frame. I'll probably hold on to it and hang a framed printing of the newspaper clipping next to it.

Just dropped it off for a custom frame. I'll post an update when I get the painting back. ETA is Sept 19th at the latest.
