Was out digging around at my local beach, Holden Beach NC, at night, trying my luck using Minelab Equinox 800..
It was a little windy but not to bad.. Finding all kinds of things and some weirds ones.. lol

Found this silver ring, a US silver quarter that was turn into a ring.. Think the date say 1951?? I have been told these type of rings were made in prison, inmates would take a silver coin and hold it on edge and hit it with a spoon while spinning the coin, then they will cut the middle out and they will have a ring.. Any of you guys heard anything like that before??

I was with a friend when he dug one made from silver quarter. Cool find for sure. I have found only one coin ring. It was found at a school and it is made from a US nickel. Yep, I was hoping for a gold item.
Grats on the ring find.

Nice Find! Also there are some 1959 one cents out there with a wheat obverse. Can be worth quite a bit.
