I posted a while back about my back pain. That it occurs when using my scoop, I discovered a product that seems to help quite a bit, "Blue Emu super strength". Got in on line from Amazon, under $4.00. Don't know if it will work for everyone, my wife tried it for her hip pain, says it did not help.

Good luck and thanks for all the feed back

If you are in waders, try a back brace. I use one and it helps. but I have not tried one when in a bathing or wet suit. I have thought about doing so, but I do not know what the salt water would do to the brace's material. Also, summer digging is less strenuous than when in waders and digging the deeper targets.
