It's a lot lighter, is better at finding tiny gold, much quicker response for better unmasking of targets in trash or iron infested ground, has wireless headphones, and is waterproof. The detection depth is very close too, when comparing similar coils sizes. I do like the Etrac numbering system better however, and the Etrac handles EMI better too IMO.

Since beach hunting is my main thing my backup for the E-Trac is the Equinox 600.
Might use a Deus XP from time to time if I am park or school yard hunting.

My first gen Explorer xs is next in line if my E-trac is not available. It’s the reason I kicked my VX3 to the curb and get the E-trac

I know! I know! We ALL love our E-Tracs! However, when your etrac is down, what is your backup unit And/or complimentary machine?

:3barsgold:
For a long time, my backup was a Tesoro Toltec 100, then later a Minelab 705 Gold Pack, both were great machines.
