Hey guys, newbie here, hello all. Been CRH for about a month now, only venturing into pennies and nickels. I've had tons of fun with nickels and even found a handful of wars and a buffalo in three boxes. Great fun, however i have no machine to dump the coins without a fee. I have been rolling the nickels by hand and returning them to the bank (BOA). Today i tried 3 different branches and all 3 said i couldn't turn in the coins theres.. it was only $100 worth! Anyone else have this problem? How can i cash in my coins while avoiding the 9% fee? Should i try another bank that i dont have an account with? Thanks!

do you have an account at BofA ?

Yes i do have an account there. Sorry for not clarifying

hopefully u didnt get them from the same branch. plus you need to rolled them in those that says $2 wrappers, not just old newspapers.

I have a BofA acct and I've never had any trouble dumping coins there before. Now I usually use free coin machines @ another bank that I don't have an acct at because it is just so much easier and I don't have to reroll coins anymore. Maybe I should consider myself lucky that I don't have some of the hassles some other people do. :icon_scratch:

Good luck & HH

Hmm, that's odd. The BoA I've stopped into to pick up random dime rolls accepts coins, if you don't mind the 10 day wait before it's counted and deposited. I haven't had a bank flat out refuse to take coins. Are you returning them to the same bank you picked them up at?

The coins I had were rolled in coin rollers, and no i got them from a branch in a different city altogether. May go in and talk to them without the coins in hand and see what the problem is lol
