We got pounded with 7” of snow Friday night. Sunday afternoon was sunny and a bit warmer. Decided to move some logs at my new old site. Snow was too sticky to swing. Not surprising that a number of flat buttons popped (now at 52 for this site), but got lucky chasing a really faint scratchy 1 way 26-28 in the iron. Turned out to be a 1787 Connecticut Copper. I knew it had good detail right away, and it was something different, very stoked to hold a CT State Copper found in W PA!

Congrats on a great find !
I also found a 1787 Connecticut Copper here in Eastern Ohio 3 or 4 years ago.
Yours is in much nicer condition than mine.

Congratulations on your 1787 Connecticut Copper, what a thrill it must be to hold a piece of US history that's 235 years old! You're a better man then I am to be out detecting in the snow buddy. :laughing7:

Congrats on your first CT Thad. It's a beauty. My first was a beauty too. Even though I've found about a dozen more since then, my first is still my best. Connecticut's are the most common state copper in our area, but that doesn't mean they are easy to find. Good job on your new old site.
