Hard case seems to really be the beast for car(s) and general transport. When the equipment needs to be transported to higher ground using standard leather transport, me, the highlander, prefere the military backpack. It has extra strings on both sides, designed to attach the rifle, but works great for detector shaft(s), shovel and small peek.

I did look at the military type soft cases. Coil size definitely factors in. Different situations call for different tools and for my application the hard case is the best choice. Happy Detecting!
