Area fairs, table events , flea markets, bazaars., book yourself a table with small display of finds, sell odd old stuff like bottles , square nails, horseshoes. Mural, cards to give away. Main purpose to chat people explain detecting hobby, and offer folks properties to be detected ( by yourself or with them and a loaner). Secure permission invitations and get referrals to other possible ones.
This idea actually just came to me upon reading your thread post- but I’m going to look to do this myself. The other idea is to attend appropriate historical society meetings ( with pics and cards to give out) and talk to peop le again looking for opportunities.
