Big ballin' after husband found this at the park!!!

Soooo, my husband took MY new metal detector to the park , and he found this ring. He thought it was just a dumb fake ring, and gave it to our six-yr-old. I asked him if he found anything, and he told our girl to show mommy. I took that crap away real quick to inspect. As soon as I inspected I knew it was white gold. I think the baguettes on the side are real diamonds. But I don't know what the center gem is. I'm thinking it is tourmaline? Great find and reward awaiting the hubby. It is my at pro gold that found it though.

I have yet to find a gold ring, but my 9 year old grand daughter got her birthstone in silver and just the right size too... My wife not so lucky occasional wears the silver turquoise on her toe... I need to check under some bridges with my Tigershark!!

Could it be a light pink ruby?

I think you mean Pink Sapphire as Corundum in any color other than Red, is considered Sapphire! It is hard to say but the obvious choices are Pink Tourmaline or Pink Sapphire but due to the quality of the ring (i.e. 14k White Gold) and having nice Diamond Baquettes, then I would lean towards the latter.

The daughter was upset, so I got her an ice cream. It's fair. She's happy, I'm ecstatic.

I'd have to say you are getting the better end of this deal all around. Husband just gets a happy wife, the daughter gets ice cream, and you get a $1,000 ring? Hmmm..... :)

very nice. could be diamonds, but I would tend to think that the stones in the shoulders are white sapphires.

I think the word you're looking for is "bawling", not ballin'. Bawling is a word that means crying, while ballin' has a totally different meaning!

"Big Ballin" is slang for being good , or lucky, at something. A "baller' is a good basketball player.

Worth having a jeweler check it out, though (be prepared) I have seen artificial (lab grown) rubies that are that big, so it could be a pink sapphire. If it is tourmaline, it is worth big bucks (and should make Banner!)
